Hailsham United JFC U14 Colts 6 vs. 0 Riverhead Angels

Hailsham failed to take any points when they last met Riverhead and after the weather enforced break since they last played, the Colts were expecting another tough encounter. A quiet first half saw Hailsham not competing for the loose balls, whilst easily absorbing the Angels attacks. Likewise the Riverhead’s back five were able to neutralize the usually lethal Hailsham wingers. So honours were even at nil-nil at half time. The Colts won their break when Sam Collins was sent sprawling on the edge of the box and then converted the free kick. This was the turning point and Hailsham turned in a performance of the season. Incessant attacks, together with text book finishing from Robin Garnet (hatrick) and Perry Ford, tapping home a Packham cross, followed by a sublime chip and volley. Hailsham emphatically taking all 3 points and also keeping only their second clean sheet of the season.
